    Closing is a New Zealand band formed through different music connections and friends in Otautahi and Melbourne.

    The line up is a revolving door of multi-instrumentalists coming together to create live-only free-form dance music performances.

    With influences spanning from jazz to tech-house, these one of a kind performances are sure to make you move and groove.

  • Craigslist

    Now an established name in Ōtautahi nightlife, Craigslist is a party, record label and DJ outfit operated by Colter Carson and Raffeal Hamblett. Since humble beginnings in 2020, the project aims to create shared moments of joy with an aesthetic centred on obscure records.

    The success of this manifesto is reflected in the consistently positive response gained from partygoers and label supporters alike, year after year.
    In the DJ booth, Colter and Raffy (Craigslist Soundsystem) strike a delicate balance between eclecticism and danceability that denotes a deep understanding of musical traditions and club culture. Defying the confines of genre and era, the pair bring a refreshing and joyous sound to the dancefloor.

  • David Kilgour & The Heavy Eights

    David Kilgour has been making music for 50 years with The Clean, The Great Unwashed, Snapper, Pop Art Toasters, April Fools, and under his own moniker. They last toured in 2019 supporting the release of the LP Bobbies a Girl released on Merge Records. Due to David's problems with his hands they have been have been even more quieter than usual. Thankfully thats getting better and they are gearing up for a new release in 2025.

  • Elliot & Vincent

    Elliot & Vincent are a two-piece rock ’n’ roll band whose primal, beating rhythms and sculptural, driving guitar lines create a thrilling sonic landscape. Their debut single, ‘Doberman’—released at midnight of the night they opened for The Jesus and Mary Chain—exists within that landscape, signposting the raw power and gripping intensity of their live shows.

  • Farewell Spit

    Taking you on sonic voyages through uncharted waters, Farewell Spit is the improvising quintet of Jeff Henderson, Daniel Beban, Riki Gooch, Tom Callwood and Anthony Donaldson.

    This notorious crew of unchained musicians draw on the volatile elements and legends of deep sea adventures, playing slowly evolving, layered epics which are at once calming and devastating.

  • Jim Nothing

    Jim Nothing is the solo project of Ōtautahi-born, Tāmaki-based artist James Sullivan. His latest LP, Grey Eyes, Grey Lynn, captures the essence of inner-city Auckland, offering a glimpse into Jim's world. Created during isolation, the album reflects on his surroundings, finding beauty in the ordinary and eccentricities of daily life.

    With refined songwriting drawn from lived experience, it explores local pubs, open roads, psychedelic summers, and deep melancholia—painting a picture of antipodean life at the edge of the world, written on neighborhood walks with pen and notebook.

  • Mokotron

    MOKOTRON is a Tāmaki-based Māori producer from Ngāti Hine, who spreads seismic waves of low frequency Indigenous electronic music. Exploring ancient futurism through music, MOKOTRON imagines a reality without colonisation, where the ancestors transition from the ancient world into the modern, creating futures of hope.

  • Mr Meaty Boy

    MR MEATY BOY (Ngāti Porou, Ngāpuhi) is an artist based in Ōtautahi Christchurch. Their debut show was Fostercare’s eMotionz series at Christchurch’s infamous darkroom in 2019. Opening for acts like horsegiirL, TSVI, Yazzus, JamesJamesJames and many more, Mr MEATY BOY is well versed in uplifting audiences all over the country. They run a club night initiative with other Ōtautahi artists called Emotional Capacity - endeavouring to connect underground scenes with a community first approach.

    They are renowned for genre jumping sets that push music exploration and spirit of dance and rave culture.

  • O/PUS

    Below the thunders of the upper deep, O/PUS are Jade Farley, Stefan Neville, Beth Dawson, and Liz Mathews. First merging and emerging in 2021 from their previous bands Octopus and Olumpus (of many many bands) they are their own beast. A band of Tāmaki punks waiting for high tide.

  • Pachyman

    For his latest album Switched-On, Pachy García (aka Pachyman) takes his dub-influenced sound in a new direction. The follow-up to 2021’s The Return of Pachyman, Switched-On pays homage to the early days of synthesizer manipulation, blending glitchy bleeps and whooshes with García’s signature synthesizer-driven tracks.

    Drawing inspiration from Lovers' Rock-era reggae and Studio One Records, songs like "Goldline" mix disco, funk, and dub influences, while "Mi Sala" showcases an effervescent electronic interlude. "Trago Coqueto," a playful love song, reflects García’s Puerto Rican roots, perfectly capturing the album’s blend of forward-thinking creativity and homage to his past.

  • Pearly*

    Formed in 2023, Ōtepoti indie rock outfit Pearly* fits somewhere between 90s emo and the garage rock revival scene of the 00s. Fronted by dual songwriters Joel Field (Dale Kerrigan) and Phaedra Love (Fairuza), accompanied by friends Ryan Hill and Josh Nicholls (Koizilla, Dale Kerrigan, Asta Rangu et.al).

  • Sarah Mary Chadwick

    Sarah Mary Chadwick is a New Zealand-born musician and visual artist, recognized for her deeply confessional songwriting and emotive performances. She began her musical career as the lead vocalist and guitarist for the post-grunge band Batrider in the 2000s. After relocating to Melbourne, Australia, Chadwick transitioned to a solo career, releasing a series of albums that showcase her raw lyrical style and distinctive voice.

    Her discography includes notable works such as "Me and Ennui Are Friends, Baby," released in 2021, which received critical acclaim for its stark intimacy and unflinching exploration of personal themes.

    In addition to her music, Chadwick is also a visual artist, often creating her own album artwork and engaging in painting projects that reflect her unique aesthetic

  • Simon Joyner & The Eucalypts

    Simon Joyner is an acclaimed American singer-songwriter from Omaha, Nebraska, whose music has been shaping the indie scene since the early '90s. Widely regarded as one of the greatest songwriters of his generation, he has influenced artists like Kevin Morby, Conor Oberst, and Gillian Welch, who calls him her "favorite poet."

    Known for his introspective, rambling ballads, Joyner’s work draws comparisons to Leonard Cohen, Townes Van Zandt, and modern songwriters like Bill Callahan and the late David Berman.

    He’ll be joined by his backing band, The Eucalypts, featuring some of Melbourne’s finest musicians, including Michael Beach, Leah Senior, and Jesse Williams.

  • Uncle Quentin

    In SINGS BALLADS AND BLUES, Uncle Quentin has kindly slithered back out from his lair, wearing his torn and stained balaclavas and singing about destruction.

    Following his earlier beat-focused mixtapes, Uncle Quentin sings all the tracks on SINGS BALLADS AND BLUES. Throughout the mixtape the songs veer from his standard themes of queer disgust to more tender love songs, inhabiting many gray spaces in between. Facing retro-futuristic environmental and interpersonal fears, Uncle Quentin hones in on a 1950s-cum-1993 aesthetic, smearing everything in sight with Vaseline, record crackle, static, glitter, nifty lead guitar breaks and analog hiss.

    Vanessa Worm is a New Zealand-born, Melbourne-based artist known for her lush, genre-blurring sound that merges experimental pop, electronic, and ambient music. Her music is characterized by intricate production, blending organic textures with hypnotic, often glitchy beats and atmospheric soundscapes. Vanessa’s ethereal voice sits at the center of her tracks, weaving through layers of shimmering synths, pulsating basslines, and field recordings.

    With each release, she refines her ability to create immersive, emotive sound worlds that feel both experimental and deeply captivating.

    Her latest album, Loom, showcases a more expansive sonic palette, incorporating everything from sparse, minimalistic moments to complex, layered arrangements, solidifying her place as a bold and innovative force in contemporary electronic music.

  • Ngāsti

    Ngāsti are a duo based in Tāmaki Makaurau, Auckland. They are simply divine, sloiinched and are cult leaders of illumingāstitanga. They are personality gymnasts and have perfected this discipline since the beginning of cancellation ceremonies. Like a damsel in distress, they bring the extra EXTRA terrestrial 5D experience to the spawnosphere.
